Community Update #1.13

Rejoice in Hope this Easter

Year 4 led the Good Friday Stations of the Cross school Liturgy.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (1 Peter 1:3)

On behalf of the staff, I wish you and your families a joyful Easter and relaxing holiday period.

Thank you for your continued support throughout the first term.

Thank you to our Parent and Friends committee for coordinating the Easter Raffle, the first school fundraiser since this time one year ago. Thanks to all of you who contributed by supplying prizes and selling tickets. Details of the results will be shared early next term.

We look forward to welcoming you all back in Term 2 when the children wear the winter uniform.

We wish Cara Baker every blessing as she goes on maternity leave and wish her and Josh well in the coming weeks.
We also wish Veronica Sciulli well as she takes leave for the next three terms.
Further news about staff replacements will be confirmed next term.

New arrangements for drop off and pick up (as published in Community Update #1.12)

From Monday 29th March, due to the latest easing of Covid restrictions, we wish to make the following changes to current drop off and pick up practises:

DROP OFF ( 8:45am - 8:55am)
  • All children from Prep to Year 6 may enter school through the front yard gates from 8:45am and go straight into their classrooms. Parents and carers are welcome to walk their children into the front yard.
  • Children from Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 will walk their bikes and scooters in through the back yard gates and go straight to the bicycle shed and then into class from the backyard.
  • Children riding or scooting from Prep, Year 1 and 2 may enter the bicycle shed from the front yard (or the backyard if coming to school with an older sibling).
PICK UP (3:25pm)
  • Parents and carers are welcome to wait in the front yard to pick up their children at 3:25pm.
  • All children apart from the Year 3, 4, 5, 6 children who are riding will exit through the front yard.
We will continue to monitor the playground and review and make changes as necessary. Any questions, suggestions or feedback to principal@spmurrumbeena.catholic.edu.au

Term 2 - Time to open up the school and celebrate reconnecting together safely onsite

We are excited to be moving into a safer Covid normal. We are planning to welcome parents and carers into classrooms on certain days for morning prayers and for afternoon visits to view their children's work. More details coming out early next term.
