The Annunciation, which means "the announcement," is observed almost universally throughout Christianity, especially within Orthodoxy, Anglicanism, Catholicism, and Lutheranism.
The feast of the Annunciation began to be celebrated on this day during the fourth and fifth centuries, soon after the date for celebrating Christmas was universalized throughout the Church. The date of the feast, which is determined by the date of Christmas, is nine months prior to Christmas. This date was set by the seventh century.

Seating arrangements - Confirmation and Communion
Thanks again to all of the families that attended the Year 6 Confirmation and Year 5 Communion evenings. Our Faith and Community Leaders, Ms La Fontaine and Mrs O'Dwyer coordinated two very informative events. The evenings were recorded and a video link is available. Please contact principal@spmurrumbeena for a link to the video.
For Confirmation, traditionally, every family is allocated half of a pew for their family and friends. We anticipate that this will be the same for 2021 unless notified otherwise due to Covid restrictions.
For Communion, traditionally, every family is allocated one whole pew for their family and friends. We anticipate that this will be the same for 2021 unless notified otherwise due to Covid restrictions.

Collecting students for an appointment
When making external appointments for students, please consider making these after school hours or during the holidays. When this is not possible it would be appreciated if you could collect your child before recess times ie before 11.15 or 1.45.With the changeover to winter uniforms the holidays are a great time to sort out your uniform needs and also to donate those uniforms that no longer fit. Please donate clean, wearable (no holes) uniforms. Email Kellie to arrange drop off. Items are not to be dropped off at school. We have high demand for girls winter uniforms in particular but we accept all types of uniforms. Thank you to families for their ongoing support of the secondhand uniform shop.
The second hand uniform shop is currently operating offsite. Please contact Kellie to purchase items or drop off donations: heathcote.kellie@yahoo.com
