Alleluia Day (Easter) Liturgy
The whole school attended a short Alleluia Day liturgy to celebrate the risen Jesus following on from the Easter liturgies last term. Special thanks to Mrs O'Dwyer, Ms La Fontaine and all of the children who read during the liturgy.

Then later in the term, our Year 4's will make their First Reconciliation on Wednesday 16th June at 6pm. In Term 4, the Year 4's will make their First Communion. Before the children make the sacraments, they will also have Reconciliation.
Please keep our Year 4, 5 and 6 children and their families in your prayers in the coming weeks and months.
The flyer from Fr Siby with regards to the parent evening on Wednesday 28 April was sent home. Please email the office if you are interested in attending or email me with any questions principal@spmurrumbeena.catholic.edu.au

Camp News
Special thanks to Mr Jones for organising and leading the Year 5/6 camp this week. Thanks to all of the staff who supported the camp too. The children had a great time and returned safely on Wednesday afternoon.
One of the highlights was Ms Stokes going down the long waterslide !
Staff News
For the remainder of this year, Signora Veronica Scuilli is taking a well-earned Long Service Leave break. This has provided a unique opportunity for our Yr 1 to 6's to explore other languages and cultures, including our Indigenous History. We welcome Felicity Renaudin to our staff for the rest of this year. Felicity is known to many of the children who will enjoy working with her from next week.Bonjour et Buongiorno.
My name is Madame Felicity and it is a privilege to be able to teach French and other languages throughout the year of 2021.
The immersion programme of learning new languages, aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding, communication and respect.
I will encourage students to become compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other cultures can be different but also similar when they understand and respect others’ history and opinions.
Over the next three terms, all students will participate in reading, writing, drawing, singing, participating in incursions, playing games, listening and speaking various new languages.

School Uniform Update
Over the holidays we were informed by PSW that some sizes of the short and long sleeve polo tops are out of stock. Rather than order another run, we have decided to bring forward by a term the new checked shirt for both boys and girls in all sizes. As always, there will be a 2 year change over period where either shirt is acceptable. If you are purchasing a new shirt for the winter tunic or pants, you may prefer to opt for the new design.
Please direct any questions or feedback directly to lizh@spmurrumbeena.catholic.edu.au
Parents & Friends (P&F) News
Easter Raffle thank you
A huge thank you to all of our wonderful St Patrick's families who donated an astounding amount of Easter goodies. We were thrilled to be able to provide 128 prize hampers to children across the school and were also able provide an additional Easter Egg per child given out in the classrooms. This would not have been possible without your generosity - thankyou so much for your support.
Additionally, another big thank you to families who bought raffle tickets - $2798 was raised - the proceeds of this will go to the school towards funding the Michelle Barclay memorial running track.
Another thank you goes to the group of parents who helped by collecting donated goods from school, making the hampers, delivering the prizes and contributing to the raffle's success in other ways.
Mother's Day Stall Gifts - $5 per child
The P&F have been busy preparing a new-look Mother's Day Stall gift for children to bring home on Friday 7th May. As cashless payment is now the requested option, we ask families to provide $5 for each child using the CDF pay app. Payment can be made from Monday 26th April.
To access CDF Pay go to: https://spmurrumbeena.cdfpay. org.au or use the QR code on the front cover of your 2021 Pink List or attached flyer at this link.
Assistance required - Second Hand Uniform Stall
Over the coming weeks, the Second Hand Uniform Stall will be returning to being on-site at the school. We sincerely thank Kellie Heathcote who has been running it from her home for the last year.
We are looking for a parent or group of parents who are able to help run the stall. The stall has traditionally been open from 3.00pm to 3.25pm one day a week, and is located just inside the foyer near the doors to school hall.
If you are able to help - perhaps you'd like to grab a friend or two and set up a roster, or let the P&F know you are interested and we'll connect you to other parents. The stall is an easy way to meet other parents at the school, and the day of the week is flexible. If you would like to help - please email pandf@spmurrumbeena.catholic. edu.au
For the moment - if you have good quality second hand uniform (particularly winter uniform) items please email heathcote.kellie@yahoo.com to arrange drop off. All items are $5 and all proceeds from the sale of second hand uniform items goes to the school.
PatCare - A Connected Community - Can you help?
The St Patrick’s community support program (PatCare) is a long-standing group that supports members of our local community during times of need.
Its volunteer base is coordinated through the St Patrick’s Parents & Friends Association, but the support is administered confidentially by the school. We are always looking to grow the list of volunteers available to assist. Please click on this link to read more about PatCare.
