Week 7 Term 3 2019

A very special message from Mrs Barclay

Today was a truly yellow day as the whole community followed the suggestion from the Parr family to raise funds for the Daffodil Day Appeal. Thank you for your support and generosity. Next week, we will know how much was raised and share it with you. I visited Mrs Barclay again on the weekend and she is doing really well. Here is a very special message from her for you all. Let's continue to keep Michelle and Ricky in our prayers.

To our wonderful St Patrick's community,

I want to pass on my heartfelt thanks for all of the messages of support, love and prayers that have been coming my way over the last two months. It has certainly been a journey but with all your positive thoughts, I have truly felt the power and strength behind all your well wishes.

Thank you to the classes who have made cards and videos... they brighten up my day. It was so wonderful to read each and every card and receive personal messages, and my family and I loved watching the class video clip put together by the Yr6s. Thank you kids!

To the families and staff who have been supporting my family with meals, we are so grateful. From pasta dishes, casseroles, pies and sausage rolls, cakes, slices, muesli bars, fresh food, etc.... my kids' lunchboxes have never looked so good! It has made the day to day routine so much easier... thank you!

As you know, August is the Cancer Council's Daffodil Appeal month. I know many of you have supported this cause today by dressing up in yellow and donating to the Cancer Council. Thank you for supporting this appeal.

Once again, we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the St Pat's community and know how lucky we are to be a part of it. It truly is a special feeling to know that there's so much support and strength behind us.

With love (and sunshine!)

Michelle Barclay

Special Focus Review
During the week, Mary Wilson (world class international educator and facilitator) spent a few days with the Leadership team, staff and students reviewing our school implementation of practices, especially in relation to our core values. Mary was accompanied by Maree Holmes, a representative from Catholic Education Melbourne. Both of them were very impressed with the impact our practices are having on the well being of our community and we look forward to sharing the review report with you in the coming weeks. A HUGE thanks to our very capable Leadership team who helped the process to be such a success. On Monday, I will meet with the VRQA auditor who will complete the compliance part of the review. These school reviews happen once every four years and the outcomes contribute to our School Improvement plan going forward.

Some of our students were interviewed by the reviewers.
Father's Day THANK YOU
Some of our mums helping at the Father's Day stall
Thanks to the wonderful teams of mums who helped prepare the Year 6 Father's Day breakfast and the Father's Day gift stall today. So many of our parents work hard behind the scenes to ensure our children and families are cared for. We wish all fathers and grandfathers a very special Father's Day on Sunday.
The wonderful mums who prepared the delicious Year 6 Father's Day breakfast

Reminder no lunch orders this Monday 02/09/19.
They will be back on Wednesday.

Oh what a night!
Thanks to everyone who helped with, and came along to the 80s School Formal last Saturday. Everyone got into the spirit of the night, with cummerbunds, satin frocks and (very!) high hair as far as the eye could see!

Everyone’s generosity in buying raffle tickets and bidding on the auction items is so gratefully appreciated. The final figure we raised is still a work in progress - we’ll let you know when we have it.
A big congratulations to the Grade 4 parents. You’ve won the $150 Wolf and Malone voucher for having the most parents there on the night.
Finally, thank you to Jellis Craig for their support of the 80s School Formal. Not only did they donate vouchers, Chris Ari also donated their time on the night, with Ari conducting our auction. And despite losing power at the exact moment the auction began, he did an amazing job.
