Our Year 6's are beginning to prepare to make the Sacrament of Confirmation. They have a workshop with their families this Tuesday. Please keep them in your prayers.
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.
At assembly on Monday, I reminded the children about the Student Version of our Child Safety Policy. Mrs Yates developed this with the SRC students and it is a reminder that every child at St Patrick's has a right to feel safe. Here is a link to the policy. Please read it and talk about it with your children.
The Working With Children Check WWCC Policy has been updated and is available to read on the Learning Community Site. You can access it at this link. Please contact principal@spmurrumbeena.catholic.edu.au if you wish to discuss this further.
Daffodil Day Friday 30th August
On Friday 30th August we will raise funds for Daffodil Day and keep our PE Specialist teacher Michelle Barclay and Ricky from 2O in our thoughts and prayers.
From Monday 26th August we will have some Cancer Council Daffodil Day pens for sale for $3.00.
Every child will be able to come to school wearing yellow on Friday and bring a gold coin donation for the Cancer Council.
Book Week
Thanks to Mrs Woods for organising the Book Week activities. We had great fun sharing our costumes with each other in the Book Week Parade on Wednesday. You will be able to check out some of the costumes on the school Facebook page very soon. Some of the classes have already shared images with you via SeeSaw.
2P Assembly
We are looking forward to 2P's assembly on Monday. I was fortunate to see 2P rehearsing on Book Dress up day. I can't wait to see their presentation. We will also have a special visit from Katie Allen the federal member of parliament for Higgins. Katie is coming to present our school with a gift of the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags for our new flag poles.
