Also as part of their Confirmation Reflection Day, the Year 6 students heard the amazing story of one of our parents, Shaun Bacon, who earlier this year competed in the Marathon des Sables -a six-day, 251 km ultramarathon, which is approximately the distance of six regular marathons. This race is held every year in southern Morocco, in the Sahara Desert. This year Shaun finished in the top 50. Shaun spoke about what motivates him, resilience and goal-setting.
We look forward to sharing in the Confirmation of our Year 6 students on Wednesday (6O) and Thursday (6H) evenings.
School Closure Day
Don't forget there is a school closure day for students this Monday 28th May. OHSC be unavailable on this day.
It was true cross country weather last week as approximately 80 children from Years 4-6 participated in the Dendy District event. What amazing team spirit there was from the St Patrick’s area as our children cheered on all the competitors as they ran past!! Our children gave 100% effort; we are so proud of their performance. Thank you to the parents who assisted, and everyone who came to watch and support our team- it is greatly appreciated.
As reported last week, St Patrick’s won the % shield which takes into account team placings and school population. Overall, we came a fantastic 3rd. Special mention to the following children whose placing in the top 8 has earned them a place in the Beachside Division Cross Country next week. Congratulations to Charlotte (Yr6), Angus, Luciana, Alice and Emma (Yr5), Lila and Matt (Yr4). Good luck!
