Term 3 Community Update # 6

First 5 days of Flexible Learning completed

Congratulations to our children, families and staff for making the adjustment to Flexible Learning this week.
We know it's a challenge for everyone but you have all done so well.
It was great to see all of the children engaged in their Zoom meetings and wearing their school uniform.
We are aware that many of you had to be extra flexible and patient on Thursday morning when the Learning Site couldn't be accessed for some of you. Unfortunately it was our very first technical glitch. It was complex, especially when we could view the site at school.
I apologise for the inconvenience.
Thankfully, the problem was resolved and we were back up and running again very soon.

The Flexible Learning plans for next week are all up on the site ready to go.

Parents and Friends
During the week, we held a Parents and Friends meeting. Thanks to Jenny Jones and Kim Johnston for hosting the meeting.
The main focus of the meeting was around potential ways to show appreciation to our parents and carers on Gratitude Day due to the lockdown and potential restrictions for Mothers/ Fathers/ Special Friends celebrations.
We also discussed ways to raise the Patcare profile. PatCare is a community initiative that provides a meal or support to members of our school community. We will share more about this next week.

Parish Education Board (PEB)
Members of the PEB met via Zoom during the week. It was a great opportunity for the new board to reflect on their role and how they can support our community going forward. Thanks to Victoria Jones our new board chair and Christina Cardillo, the PEB secretary. All members of the board are listed on our Learning Community Site under the PEB tab.
Here is a slideshow of some of the information from the Principal's report.

Have a safe weekend everyone.

Jenny Hawkins
Principal
