Week 8 Term 2 2019

Family Mass
This weekend is the Feast of the most Holy Trinity. It is also a Family Mass and we look forward to celebrating mass with you at 9am on Sunday.

Here is information about the gospel reading for Sunday.
In the Gospel, from John 16:12-15, Jesus looks to the future when he will no longer be physically present to the disciples. He assures them that their privileged sharing in the intimacy of the relationship between himself and the Father will not cease but continue through the gift of the Spirit. The “truth” which the Spirit communicates is truth in the Johannine sense of the definitive revelation of God given to the world in the person of Jesus. The truth is ultimately the revelation that “God is love” (1 John 4:7, 16).

Archbishop Peter and the Bishops of Ballarat, Sale and Sandhurst have prepared a Pastoral Letter regarding Voluntary Assisted Dying, which becomes legal in Victoria on Wednesday 19 June 2019. You can access the copy of the letter at this link.

You can access the accompanying WE CARE resource at this link

PatCare
We need a few more people on the PatCare list. This is a community initiative that provides a meal to members of our school community who are suffering. It’s such a beautiful component of our caring community. If you would be willing to cook a meal (one once or twice a year!) please email pandf@spmurrumbeena.catholic.edu.au and we will pass on your details to Paula Sanders our PatCare leader.

Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus – Whole School Mass

As a Catholic school community we are grounded in the belief that each person is made in the image and likeness of God. The dignity of the human person is the starting point for a vision for a just society – the Kingdom of God. From this vision, we respond to a call to service by reaching out beyond ourselves to act for justice and the Common Good.

On Friday 28 June we are celebrating the Feast of the Sacred Heart with a whole school Mass. This feast day traditionally has a focus on the poor. As a part of our call to service, we are asking each family to bring a can of food which will be donated to St Vincent de Paul.

PAM Parent Access Module

By now, every family should be registered to be able to access PAM. PAM is the Parent Access Module, the parent part of our SIMON management system we use for the electronic attendance register at school.

Please check and update your child's medical details on PAM.

Your child's school report will be accessible through PAM instead of a hard copy being sent home.

You will have access to last year's reports too.

The 2019 Mid Year report will be available through PAM after 4pm on Tuesday 18th June in readiness for the parent meetings on Thursday 20th June. We look forward to catching up with you at the parent meetings.

Parent/Teacher Meetings

Parents/teacher meetings will be held from 1.30 pm this Thursday 20th June.  Bookings will close on Tuesday, therefore any late changes or bookings will have to be advised to the office.
Children will be dismissed at 1pm on this day.  Team kids will be operating from the earlier time of 1.00pm  Bookings essential.

Email Protocols

Our staff are more than happy to receive email communication from parents. From a pastoral perspective for the well being of our staff, they will respond to parent emails between 8am and 5pm during week days in a timely manner.

SeeSaw

It's great to see so many parents engaged with Seesaw and their children's learning. Please be aware that any comments you make will need to be approved by the class teacher before being displayed on the class post. This means, at times, there may be a delay in the visibility of your comment.
